Car body panels that will serve as batteries

Volvo car corporation is working together with researchers at Imperial College London on a project to develop materials which will store and discharge electricity, and which can also be used as bodywork in a car.
The ultimate aim is to make hybrid and electric cars up to 15% lighter.
The material could also be used as casing for mobile phones and laptops.
