Company develops hummingbird-like flying vehicle
A company called Aerovironment has developed a flying machine which behaves like a bird in that its wings flap and are the only means of propulsion and change of direction.
Dubbed the "nano-hummingbird", the vehicle has a wingspan of 16 cm and its weight complete with battery and video camera is just 19 grams.
The youtube clip above shows the hummingbird in action. You can find out more at the Aerovironment website or at theengineer.co.uk.
