A team of researchers at Eindhoven University of Technology have developed an electromagnetic active suspension system. Tests indicate that the system increases the ride quality up to 60%. Safety is also improved as the cars don't roll or sway in corners.
The system has already been tested on a test vehicle which was a standard looking BMW 530i. One of the most important aspects of the system is the fact that it reacts so much faster that active suspensions controlled by hydraulics.
The system can even generate power from bumps in the road which can be fed back into the battery.
