Researchers at Stanford University have developed a sensor which has properties similar to a stretchable skin which returns to its original shape having been stretched over twice its length.
It can also sense a range of pressure from a pinch up to thousands of pounds. You can see a demonstration in the clip below or read more about the research at Stanford University News.
